Moradabad SSP Hemraj Meena made five constables posted at Mainather police station present in line. It is alleged that a constable had appeared before the DIG and complained about the police station officers and fellow constables. Constable Ravish Kumar, posted at Mainather police station, appeared before the DIG on 26 February and told that on 24 February, he was sent from the police station for duty in Police Lines.
On the night of 25th February, at around 9 pm, a call came on his phone from constable Manoj Pawar posted at Mainather police station. He said that we have to meet immediately. After this he brought the car in front of Adarsh Barrack of Police Lines. When constable Ravish came to talk to Manoj Pawar.
He said, let’s go to Mainather police station now, the police station in-charge has called. It is alleged that after this, accused constables Manoj Pawar, Rizwan Khan and Nitin Kumar forcibly took Ravish in the car and took him to Mainather police station. There, the constable and another of his associates were locked up on charges of theft.
He was released after undergoing medical treatment late at night. The DIG had ordered SP Dehat Sandeep Kumar Meena to investigate this matter. SSP Hemraj Meena had also taken cognizance of this matter.
On the basis of the primary investigation report, the SSP took action to bring the complainant constables Ravish Kumar, Krishna Pal as well as the accused constables Manoj Pawar, Rizwan Khan and Nitin Kumar to the line. The SSP said that action has been taken against the constables who broke discipline. Such soldiers will not be deployed in the police station.
